Sprite Animation Cutter is a tool designed for editing and testing sprite animations. It allows you to:

  • Test Sprite Sheets: Import your sprite sheet, specify the number of rows and columns, and press the play button to preview your animation.
  • Separate Sprites: Split a sprite sheet into individual PNG images and export them.
  • Create Animated GIFs: Generate GIFs from your sprite sheets or individual sprites.
  • Extract Frames from GIFs: Import a GIF to extract and save individual frames as PNG images.
  • Create Sprite Sheets: Convert GIFs, images, or another sprite sheet into a new sprite sheet. 

To test a sprite sheet, import it, set the number of rows and columns, and press the "Play" button. To exclude sprites from the animation, press the "Separate sprites" button and drag the sprites out of the frame.

To split a sprite sheet, open your sprite sheet, set the rows and columns, select "Separate sprites," and then press "Export sprites" to save them as individual PNG files.

Playback Modes: Test your animations with the following modes:

  • Normal
  • Reversed
  • Loop
  • Loop Reversed
  • Loop Ping Pong
  • Loop Random

By default, animations play in "Loop" mode.

hi ^_^ maybe im dense, is there a way to take 8 different sprite sheets and put them together into one in this program? Or is that not a feature here.

Hi! Thanks for the comment. Doing that with this app is too tricky, but what you can absolutely do with this app is create a new sprite sheet from individual sprites or from another sprite sheet.
